Richardson is one of my favourite authors of crime fiction as her stories are believable and engaging This one centres around a t.v journalist, Rebecca Thorn, whose career is waining, possibly about to be ended by the network She has been working hard on investigating a triple murder case, and believes Connor Bligh has been wrongly accused Mixed in with the investigation is her affair with Jo, a barrister, who also believes Bligh is innocent but suddenly casts off the case and Rebecca This Richardson is one of my favourite authors of crime fiction as her stories are believable and engaging This one centres around a t.v journalist, Rebecca Thorn, whose career is waining, possibly about to be ended by the network She has been working hard on investigating a triple murder case, and believes Connor Bligh has been wrongly accused Mixed in with the investigation is her affair with Jo, a barrister, who also believes Bligh is innocent but suddenly casts off the case and Rebecca This psychological thriller is well written and is wroth reading as are all of Richardson s novels A great crime writer from New Zealand This is the first NZ crime novel I ve read, though I ve read quite a few American and English ones What I liked immediately was the perspective of a journalist who is forced to find something impressive to turn into a documentary so that she can ressurrect her flagging career She s not a cop, or a detective, or a forensic scientist, or a psychologist In the beginning, her reasons are entirely selfish She s got her own interests at heart It made a nice change, offered a totally different per This is the first NZ crime novel I ve read, though I ve read quite a few American and English ones What I liked immediately was the perspective of a journalist who is forced to find something impressive to turn into a documentary so that she can ressurrect her flagging career She s not a cop, or a detective, or a forensic scientist, or a psychologist In the beginning, her reasons are entirely selfish She s got her own interests at heart It made a nice change, offered a totally different perspective on the crime, and gave me an insight into the world of investigative journalism Very interesting It s a pretty good story The storyline kept my interest and was easy to read There were a few twists in the tale I picked most but there were a few surprises. Another absolutely riveting read by Paddy Richardson andbeautifully described New Zealand settings to explore This one was interesting, because it s a story about storytelling about the power of a narrative Deeply engaging, with many parts that have stuck with me As soon as I finished this, I picked up the next novel with the same protagonist, because it really left me wanting.
