KINDLE ¾ Taken by You ò All I wanted was an internship I never thought I d end up dating a billionaire Penelope Wells is about to start her last semester in college and dreams of working at a large tech company in San Francisco When her best friend and roommate, Nicolette, scores her an internship interview at RandomMeetX, a multibillion dollar singles app, she couldn t be thrilled But when she goes in for her interview, her life changes forever Blake Hunter is the CEO of RandomMeetX and a misogynistic billionaire who craves control and power When he sees Penelope in his building, he s strangely mystified, even though she isn t the plastic type he usually goes for After all, she s a plain Jane and his usual type is pumped full of silicone He proposes something to Penelope that she knows will change the course of her future All her needs will be taken care of if she takes care of all of his With her bank account running low, she agrees, but quickly finds out Blake s needs involve handcuffs, blindfolds, and lots of handprints on her ass This is the first book in a planned trilogy The book features alternating points of view by chapter This book was so like 50 shades of Gray I m surprised they published it.It paralleled the storyline uncannily, girl meets billionaire at his office, she has a flat mate who she gets on well with Billionaire fancies her but of course things never run smoothly, there is a friendly chauffeur and a trilogy of books, the first leaving you up in the air after a big row Ring any bells I enjoyed reading it but it was a little tame, haven t made up my mind if I ll read the other two as it s so obvious This book was so like 50 shades of Gray I m surprised they published it.It paralleled the storyline uncannily, girl meets billionaire at an okay read Both characters Penelope and Blake did not live up to the type of personality that was described for them. There is Penelope who is supposed to be this shy introvert This is what she was supposed to be but failed at actually being First off a shy introvert wouldn t find herself being a sugar baby to a billionaire play boy The fact that she agreed so quickly to Blake s conditions of described for them. There is Penelope who is supposed to be this shy introvert This is what she was supposed to be but failed at actually being First off a shy introvert wouldn t find herself being a sugar baby to a billionaire play boy The fact that she agreed so quickly to Blake s conditions of their relationship is utterly ridiculous. Then we have Blake who is suppose to ruthless and controlling Yes we do see some of his controlling behavior a bit but as far as him being what he was supposed to be he fell flat like his female counter part.About half way into this book I sort of felt like I was reading 50 Shades of Grey again If you read my review of that book then you know that I only got half way through before calling its quit This book was just as shitty Just like Ana and Christian, Blake and Penelope have nothing to build their relationship out of.There is one thing that Penelope said that has me a bit flabbergastedI felt safe and secure when I was with him and my body against his He was my shield, and I knew he d always protect me.Now the thought that ran through my head was WHAT THE FUCK First let s take apart the second sentence How the hell do you know that he is a shield and would always protect you First off throughout this entire book Blake takes care of Penelope s financial needs in exchange for her companionship and sex Not once in the book was she put in danger and he physically with his own strength and body had to protect her So where in the hell is he a shield Another thing is that they don t know each other Their entire relationship is based on sex If she was a true person I would have smacked the hell out of her for being completely stupid. Now lets look at this first part of Penelope s quote What I am curious about is how is it that a man you know nothing about can make a you feel safe Penelope is basically a naive and dear I say it stupid little girl despite her age who has no experience in the dating game Yes she may have had her one or two little flings but exactly how long has it lasted for her to compare her current relationship to her past relationship Penelope basically set herself up to be hurt She knew that her and Blake s relationship was basically her being a Sugar Baby She should have known from the beginning that something was up Not once did she actually question why Blake wanted this form of relationship Another thing I don t care if your a man or a woman everyone should know that you shouldn t sleep with your boss or future boss, your just asking for trouble If you should end up in that type of predicament then as a man or woman you should be prepared for any type of backlash that may eventually occur from such relationship. Now, with Penelope being criticized is over let s move on to Blake Blake is manipulative He saw how easy it would be to get Penelope to agree to anything He took his chance on her never expecting to actually develop feeling towards her His character is utterly ridiculous All we know about Blake was that he was once in love and the woman he was in love with hurt him in someway that hasn t been revealed in the story frankly speaking I actually don t give a damn He thinks he is controlling when in actuality he isn t.I found both characters to be dull Going into this book I thought it would be good, but I was high disappointed I pushed through because I was practically to the end and didn t want to not finish it I will not finish the sequels to the book since I don t care what happens after FREE ontoday 8 22 2019 2.5 not for me Stars So this was a free copy and I thought I d try it out I haven t read anything from Young before and it was short so I gave it a try Well I am sorry to say that this one is just not for me I found myself skimming so much of it even the sex scenes because it was way too much and not in a good way.The characters had conflicting qualities actions, Penny was supposed to be this frumpy little good girl who doesn t see a point in having one night stands She feels there shoul 2.5 not for me Stars So this was a free copy and I thought I d try it out I haven t read anything from Young before and it was short so I gave it a try Well I am sorry to say that this one is just not for me I found myself skimming so much of it even the sex scenes because it was way too much and not in a good way.The characters had conflicting qualities actions, Penny was supposed to be this frumpy little good girl who doesn t see a point in having one night stands She feels there should be some sort of connection between the partners well good for her but then goes and hooks up with her potential boss the first night she meets him And in his sex room no less I mean really For such a good girl she takes all his kinks in stride never once balking at what he asks her to do I had a hard time melding the two Penny s together as one They just didn t fit And then to agree to become his girlfriend for payment supposedly went against what she believed in but then does it anyways And Blake well he is the typical control freak billionaire that we have seen done all too often Except Young tries to make us see him as a man misunderstood a softy at heart so to speak But I didn t really get that He seemed like a self absorbed jerk for the most part though his word and some of his actions towards Penny showed him differently He still came across as insincere I guess I don t know, I really had a hard time rooting for him as man in general let alone him and Penny as a couple Then there were the things he would say to her Way too often I found myself snickering and rolling my eyes thinking who says or does those things. The ending was strange, it was sort of a cliff hanger and sort of not I know Young was wanting us the readers to want to know what will happen with them next But I honestly thought that this could be the end and I would be okay with that So I am not sure how to feel about how it ended I wasn t too impressed with this one but if you want a quick read that you don t have to invest emotionally in then this is worth check out
